A short walk

A short walk is like running a few miles for Dereck and he wonders how long his body will feel this way.  All the stories I have read on the Internet about malaria survivors who went through what he and Reggie went through, said it takes a good 6 months before they felt 100%, but I'm sure that these two men will find a way to make things work well before 6 months.

Today, I decided to take my camera and macro lens.....why, I don't know because you really do need a tripod for the sharpest shots and then there's the high sun factor where everything is totally blown out and then the over saturation of certain colours like yellow and red and bright pink.
A butterfly and Lantana.  I remember growing up in the Caribbean that Lantana was considered a weed, I come to the USA and I found it funny that Home Depot was selling this weed!  It's a pretty weed or flower or whatever you want to call it.

Not sure if this is a Monarch, but it's pretty anyway.

Weed or plant.

Does it matter which is it as long as it photographs nicely?

no, it doesn't matter....just sharing my story about the plant/weed. I always thought it was pretty back in the days when I thought it was a weed, I actually still regard it as a weed cuz every time I see it in a store for sale, it makes me smile.
Don....what are we gonna do with you??

when dereck's lungs get the all clear, swimming might be good for him. it does wonders for my fibro; the point being that you get a full range of motion through your joints and muscles, whilst being weightless, so there is less strain. even if you just float in the water, the waves are gently moving and massaging your body... it will take time to build up, and he mustn't push too hard - but i'm sure he knows that already! xx
